Scholarships Awarded

The Masonic Home Educational Foundation is pleased to announce it awarded 77 scholarships for the 2023-2024 school year. After a successful inaugural Grand Lodge Children Charities initiative by M: W: Brother Jay McCallum, the donations received covered nearly 64% of expense of the seventy-seven scholarships. Most Worshipful Jimmie Dean Dunkin, Grand Master, announced the continuation of the Grand Lodge Children Charities program and has asked the members and the public to again support our charities.

10th District Open Air Degree

The 10th Masonic District will hold its annual outdoor degree on Sunday, September 24th. It will held at Nibletts Recreational Park in Vinton. The address is 2409 Niblett Bluff Road. Lunch will be served at 1pm and the Lodge will open at 2pm. All Master Masons are invited to attend.

8th District Outdoor Degree – October 8th

The 8th Masonic District will hold its annual Outdoor Degree on October 8, 2023 at the camp off Bailey Road in Rosepine. Lunch will be served at 12 noon on the grounds. In the event of rain, we will move the location to Rosepine High School. The Master Mason degree will be conferred. Our plans are to open District Lodge at 1:30 pm and proceed with the degree at 2 pm.

Grand Lodge Children Charities

The final numbers are in for the Children Charities Initiative. Lodges, individual members, businesses, and individual charitable donations totaled $166,457.40! Congratulations, and thank you! A list of all of the donors will be published so that you can thank the businesses for their support, and ask for their continued support of our charities.

2022 Training Retreat

With the previous years’ challenges behind us, we are able to host the Lodge Secretary and Warden Training Retreat. The Retreat is scheduled for Saturday, August 27, 2022 from   9am-3pm at The Wesley Center, 2350 Methodist Pkwy, Woodworth, LA, 71485.

Lodges, send your officers (or prospective officers) to the 2022 Officer Training Retreat in Woodworth, LA to best prepare them to serve in the future. Current Secretaries (or prospective Secretaries) are encouraged to take advantage of the Secretary Training workshop, which will feature the enhancements to the Grandview Database.

Please register as early as possible to allow our staff to set up proper registration and material preparation. The registration fee ($50 per person by mail and $52 online) includes refreshments, materials, and lunch. We are limited to 250 total attendees, which includes a maximum of 80 participants in the Secretary workshop.
